Dear Professor,

I hope you are well. I cannot come to class tomorrow because I am unwell – I am coughing, and sneezing a lot. I also have a headache. But, I do not think it is serious. I’m not going to the doctor. I think I have a cold. So, I will come to class at the end of the week.

I’ll be ready for my presentation with Nadia and Mariam next week.

Mo: Hi it’s Mo. How are you? What are you up to?

Nadia: I’m finishing some reading for our presentation, then I’m going to work soon. I’m working as a chef at the moment. How are you? Did you read the book about pollution? It’s quite difficult isn’t it. I’m having some problems with it.

Mo: That’s why I’m messaging you – I haven’t read it. I’m feeling really sick. I spoke to Mariam today already. I’m not coming to class tomorrow.

Nadia: oh no, poor you! What’s up?

Mo: It’s not too serious, I have a cold.

Nadia: ok, that’s good news. Are you resting? Is anyone helping you?

Mo: Thanks for asking, Nadia. Yes, I’m resting at home. I’m sleeping a lot. My brother is here. He made me soup and is staying with me while I feel unwell. I’m starting to feel a bit better. I was quite sick, but I will be ok soon I think. Then, I will read the article and make notes for our presentation.

Nadia: great! Get well soon. See you next week.

Mo: Yes see you then!

Hi Mrs George,

It’s Issam, Mo’s brother. He called earlier but there was no answer - I came to the hotel reception but you are closed.
